10.12: Dream -- On Stage

It's always been my kid's dream to be on stage, so when I got the chance to sign him up for a local acting school, I jumped at the opportunity. We've been going every Thursday since January, and he's been studying his lines like crazy, and tonight was his big debut.

He was in two of the four plays, and in the first one, he had the most lines. He's not been the BEST at memorizing his lines, but he was confident. So out he comes, in a bunny costume, hopping along. He said his lines (mostly with his back to the audience), but he got them out and he was fairly audible. At one point, he forgot his lines, and all six kids on stage just improvised for a good 4 minutes. They pretended to pull up window shades and they crawled around on the floor looking for things. These things had nothing to do with the story, of course. Eventually, SC remembered his lines and the play went on.

In his other play, SC was a robber. He had fewer lines, but he delivered them well, and then did his best at some physical comedy and yelling. He got many laughs, which he lives off of.

After the show, he was very excited to hug his fans. He also walked around the audience and shook each person's hand. He's all set to be in the next class. I have an actor on my hands!

I wish Aunt NGS could have seen it!
